ECT Supply Teacher Jobs in Brighton & Hove | Flexible Primary Supply | £120 Per Day |
Sussex Teachers is recruiting Early Career Teachers (ECTs) with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) for flexible primary supply teaching jobs across Brighton & Hove.
Starting your teaching career does not have to mean immediately committing to a full-time permanent classroom.
Flexible supply teaching gives you the opportunity to build classroom confidence, experience different primary schools and year groups, and develop your teaching skills while choosing the days you want to work.
Work from 1 to 5 days per week. You choose your availability and we match you with local primary schools across Brighton & Hove.
As an ECT supply teacher, you will work in local Brighton and Hove primary schools covering classes when their usual teacher is absent.
Your day will typically involve:
- Delivering lessons using planning provided by the school
- Managing the classroom and creating a positive learning environment
- Supporting pupils with their learning
- Following the school's behaviour and safeguarding policies
- Marking the day's work where required
- Leaving clear handover notes for the class teacher
Daily supply usually means significantly less planning and administration than a permanent classroom role, allowing you to concentrate on developing your classroom practice and gaining experience.
Why Supply Teaching Can Work Well for ECTs
Supply teaching can be a useful way to gain experience across different schools before deciding what type of permanent teaching role is right for you.
You can:
- Choose to work from 1 to 5 days per week
- Gain experience across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
- Experience different Brighton & Hove primary schools
- Develop classroom and behaviour management skills
- Build confidence as a newly qualified teacher
- Gain experience while looking for the right longer-term role
- Work around other commitments
There is no pressure to accept every booking. Tell us when you are available and we will offer you suitable local teaching work.
