Sussex Teachers are working in partnership with a large community primary school in Peacehaven to find a Reception / Early Years teaching assistant to join their team as soon as possible. Working Monday – Friday (30 hours a week) You will be paid between £80 - £85 per day according to your previous experience. 

You will be joining a large community primary school with a strong and supportive staff team. Children are enthusiastic and eager to learn and are very proud of their school and their community. Located on the south coast, 7 miles from central Brighton, the school is easily accessed via public transport with regular buses from the town centre. 

Supporting learners aged 4 – 5 years old, no two days will be the same! Educating within the Early Years will involve fun and creative lessons with play-based learning activities. You will significantly contribute to children’s development and learning with imaginative play and exploration of their environment; both in and outside the classroom. Supporting the class teacher, you encourage children to learn new skills, overcome challenges and grow into engaged and enthusiastic learners. 

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the delivery of inspiring and exciting lessons, promoting high expectations for achievement and behaviour.
  • Contribute to the promotion of inclusive education, helping to create a supportive and nurturing classroom environment. 

Requirements

  • Recent experience working with children, either within a classroom, nursery, medical or care home setting.
